IWA Blood Donor Database One of our Community Services initiative, an online database of potential blood donors from amongst the Indian community is the aim of IWA’s B.D.D. (IWA Blood Donor Database). The awareness for such a need arose in 2007 when IWA rallied support to help save Piyush Kollur, a Pune kid who came to Singapore to seek treatment for a rare kind of cancer. The greatest challenges we at IWA faced were getting blood donor matches within the stringent measures in place for blood donors in Singapore. The task was so daunting & time consuming that it was almost impossible to get blood donors at short notice. We unfortunately lost Piyush but the experience spurred us onto establishing an online database so that in times of such dire need, we could immediately offer a list of potential donors. How can you be part of IWA’s B.D.D.? JUST SIGN IN. If you, your family or friends would like to be included in our database, fill out the form below and submit it online. We assure you that all details will be kept strictly confidential. If we identify you as a donor match, we will contact you to get your consent before releasing your name for donating blood. Also, if you know anyone who is in need of blood donors or if you need any more information about IWA’s B.D.D., please contact our Community Service Coordinator -
